Developed by Anna Horton in collaboration with Becki Miller, ‘I Contact’ is a quick fire drawing game that looks at getting people connected. Sit down for 20 seconds; make eye contact and draw a portrait of the person opposite. Make sure you don’t look at the paper! Swap your drawings over and receive your beautiful portrait. Most importantly find the next stranger to play the game. Why did you pick this person? What can you find out about them? I Contact was held in MIF’s Festival Square on My Festival day. 45 couples played the game, made friends and found the next strangers to play.
This work took inspiration from What Is the City but the People? which looks at bringing all walks of life together from Manchester. ‘I Contact’ gets people talking, sharing stories and meeting each other all through this playful encounter.
