This response to Fatherland at the Royal Exchange involved gathering anonymous thoughts online with the focus of Things I’d Tell My Father/Figure. These responses combined with questions used in the making of Fatherland were used as stimulus for a workshop with young people at the Oldham Coliseum. While Fatherland investigates the feelings and responses of fathers, this piece looked at how young people, most not parents, responded to their fathers and those who are father figures in their life. The group responded by creating a short poem whilst exploring the stories shared through performance, writing and discussion. The poem uploaded here was their final creation. The group hopes to use this to create a new piece of work in the coming term.
